1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Information Collected to Provide Services to You
We often and generally collect information from or about you in the course of providing our insurance services – for instance, in order to provide quotes or coverage, or to service your insurance policy. This information is called “Nonpublic Personal Information” or “NPI”, if it identifies you and is not publicly available. We collect NPI from your applications, transactions and from consumer reports, as further described below. We collect other information that is not NPI, such as information from visitors to our website who are not our customers, or from our business partners for our corporate purposes. We describe these datasets and elements below:
Personal Identifiers – The NPI may include:
Names;
Phone numbers;
E-mail addresses;
Mailing addresses;
Job titles;
Bank account numbers; and/or
Driver’s license information and numbers, and similar government-issued identifiers, and Social Security numbers and other government identifiers.
Transactional Information. In the course of transacting with you, we collect information about you that may contain the above NPI and other information you provide to us. This includes information you provide on your application(s) to us, through your agent or broker, or in your interactions with us (in person, by phone or online).
Application Information: We also collect information that you provide in your applications, through your agent or broker, online or by phone. We sometimes may obtain similar information, or NPI, from directories or other outside sources, including public sources and third parties. This may include your name, street and email address, phone number, or government identifiers.
Consumer Reports: We obtain NPI (including the personal information described above) from consumer reporting agencies, for purposes of personal insurance products. These reports often include your claims history with other insurers, and related records. They may also include credit information obtained from consumer reporting agencies.
Communications with us: We collect information about you when you contact us, such as when you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us with questions or comments
Website and Device Information. We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services, e.g., visiting our websites or opening our emails. This information may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information (along with account information or other information we have about you) may be stored in or associated with “cookies” and similar technologies.
Information Collected Through Cookies and Similar Technologies.
Like many businesses, we (or service providers and third parties we work with) also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. This information often includes:
Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files. We use cookies, other tracking technologies, and unique advertising identifiers to collect information about your activity, browser, and device, and more specifically as described below:
Cookies – We use cookies to improve interactions with our website and enable us to better serve and communicate with (and sometimes advertise to) website visitors, and also to improve and analyze our website operations. 5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
We will keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary or useful for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements), and unless you request that we delete your information (in which case we may retain such information to the extent required or permitted by applicable law).
We have implemented technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. 6. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 and if you provide information about a minor, that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?“ below.
However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. 8. CALIFORNIA SHINE THE LIGHT LAW
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits California residents to request and obtain from applicable companies, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personally identifiable information (if any) those companies disclose to third parties for direct marketing purposes (and the names and addresses of all third parties with whom such personal information was shared in the preceding calendar year). We do not disclose personally identifiable information for these purposes.

CCPA Privacy Notice
We provide this notice (the "CCPA Privacy Notice") to supplement the information contained in the Privacy Policy. This CCPA Privacy Notice sets forth our privacy practices as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 and related regulations ("CCPA"). Additionally, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for purposes of analytics and advertising. We provide information to analytics providers to better understand how you use the Services so we can improve the Services and create new products and services. We may also provide personal information to third-party advertising providers for targeted advertising purposes, so we can provide you with more relevant and tailored ads regarding our services. Under the CCPA, disclosing personal information to these third parties may be considered a “sale” of personal information or the “sharing” of personal information for purposes of “cross-context behavioral advertising.”

Verification process

For security purposes, we will verify your identity – in part by requesting certain information from you — when you request to exercise your privacy rights. For instance, if you request categories or specific pieces of personal information we have received about you, you may need to confirm your possession of an identifier (such as an email address) or to provide a piece of identification that confirms you are the person you claim to be.
Upon receiving your request, we will respond without undue delay, and in all cases within forty-five (45) days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by forty-five (45) additional days when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day response period, together with the reason for the extension.
Right to appeal
If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email us at Info@LaurelAssoc.com. Within sixty (60) days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions.

10. ADDITIONAL PRIVACY RIGHTS IN CERTAIN STATES
Certain states have passed state-specific privacy laws that grant residents of their states particular privacy rights. These states include California, as well as Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. It also includes other states as their own states’ laws become effective over time (during 2025 and 2026) including Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Tennessee.
