What is COVID-19?
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is the Latest Disease Outbreak with Symptoms that Range from Mild to Severe. The Illness has been Classified as a Pandemic due to the Worldwide Spread. At Laurel Insurance Agency we Advise that it is Important to Remember Good Workplace Hygiene when facing this Disease.
Precautions
• Use Social Distancing to Avoid Contact with People (Staying 6 Feet Away or More is Recommended)
• Avoid Touching Your Face, Eyes, Nose, etc.
• Wash Your Hands Often with Soap and Water for at Least 20 Seconds.
• If no Hand Washing is Available, use Hand Sanitizer with 60% Alcohol.
• Avoid Crowds and Keep Your Distance from Others
• Clean and Disinfect Surfaces such as Doorknobs, Light Switches, Toilets, Faucets, and Cell Phones.
• Avoid Non-Essential Travel the includes Plane Trips and Cruises.
COVID-19 May Be Documented for OSHA
OSHA has published that COVID-19 is a Recordable Illness into a Companies Annual OSHA 300 Log if an Employee was Infected as a Result of Performing Work-Related Duties.
A COVID-19 Case is only Recordable for OSHA if it Meets the Following Criteria:
1. COVID-19 was Confirmed by a Laboratory or is Presumed Positive.
2. The Case is Work-Related as Defined by OSHA Standards.
3. The Case Involves One or More of the Recording Criteria Specified in OSHA Standards.
